Our Story

Glenny Kebabs has been a long-term vision of owner Asad Syed. As a local resident who grew up in Melbourne’s South East, Asad felt there was a need for an environment for the young generation to come together, feast, and socialize. He wanted to ensure the environment was central for all – the students, the local workers, and local families.

He went ahead to establish Glenny Kebabs in the heart of Glen Waverley in October 2016 starting in a humble food kiosk. People from all parts of Victoria came to Glenny Kebabs to experience the GK culture Asad had created. Glenny Kebabs isn’t just a place to eat, it’s an experience.

Asad’s standing in the car community also attracted masses to his stores – building the infamous ‘Wednesday Night Chills’. As of 2021, it’s hard to find car enthusiasts in Victoria that don’t know of Glenny Kebabs.

International car magazine ‘Speedhunters’ from Japan and the USA have also been one of Glenny Kebab’s cult followers – supported by the piece they published on Asad, his infamous RX7, and Glenny Kebabs. We even have regular customer with a huge Glenny Kebabs logo tattooed on his forearm... beat that!

Glenny Kebabs has gone on to feature in various media platforms – Channel 10 The Project Show, the front page of Herald Sun, The Age, The Daily Mail, and The Leader, on multiple occasions. Glenny Kebabs has regularly been reviewed by critics and rated as the best in the business.
